At the keyboard of a piano is where New Mexican transplant (Colorado native) Carol Mayberry-Sanchez feels most comfortable, having played since age 3. Raised on a farm, yet given the opportunity to take lessons and study classical piano, she has soaked in and absorbed a soundtrack of life which has resulted in her wide diversity of tastes and an expanded ability to play everything from Mozart to Motown and Beatles to Broadway.
Her paths of performance have traversed the country from Chicago to Las Vegas and many points in between, and she has appeared on stage with the Shirelles, Bobby Bare, Little Jimmy Dickens, the Ragin’ Cajun Doug Kershaw, Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire fame, the Kingston Trio, Gallagher and others. Carol has been a church pianist, private piano teacher, solo performer, recording studio session player, music director and performer in musical theater venues, and member of groups ranging from jazz to oldies rock.
Her passion for songwriting is alive and well, and as one would expect, her songs vary in genre from commercial pop, R&B, and adult contemporary with a theatrical edge to country. She is represented by Villancico Music, Inc. www.villancicomusic.com.
Carol is an adventure seeker, having skydived, bungee jumped, and completed two 500 mile bicycle tours. She and her very supportive husband, (her roadie) Dan, live with their two dogs, a horse, and a pond of Koi on their acreage in the Land of Enchantment.
